Jody Cornish joined the FNFN team on March 22, 2023 in a full time placement as our Land Code Coordinator.

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, Jody’s work will directly support the work of the Director of
Corporate Services and the Executive Director, as we work towards implementing the draft FNFN Land Code which will be invaluable for accomplishing the goals set out in our nations Reaching For Our Vision comprehensive community plan. Jody is an experienced professional who has held positions of trust in the industry and finance sectors. He is eager to engage with staff and community members about the draft Land Code in order to ensure clarity on its implications for the Nation. Jody was born and raised in Fort Nelson and is excited to return, and to help facilitate this important milestone for the future of Fort Nelson First Nation. Please know that Jody is very approachable and welcomes any questions or concerns you may have about the Land Code.

As the Land Code Coordinator, Jody will be responsible for duties that support the work of the Land Code
Development Committee, and in doing so, he will work with the First Nations Lands Management Regime, and lead community information sessions, culminating in a Ratification Vote. Over the coming months Jody will schedule public engagement sessions, prepare communications and publications that inform and engage the membership, ensuring comprehensive knowledge is shared, and he will facilitate and lead group and one-to-one discussions about the draft Land Code to implement the ratification process.
