Fort Nelson First Nation Land Code Development
Our Fort Nelson First Nation Land Code

The purpose of the Fort Nelson First Nation (FNFN) Land Code (the “Land Code”) is to set out the rules, principles and administrative structures that will apply to FNFN reserve lands, as laid out in the Framework Agreement on First Nation Land Management, to which we are a signatory.

The Land Code, if approved by eligible voting members of FNFN, will enable our Nation to manage our reserve lands, resources, and related land activities, that are current being managed "on our behalf" by the federal Department of Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC).
Our Land Code is being drafted and reviewed by our own members, and we look for everyone's imput as we work to create a Land Code that encompasses our community's views and priorities. Please feel free to contact us, your Land Code committee, and please participate in the numerous community outreach events that we have planned which are on our news page.
